Works well, appears robust and represents good value for money

Posted by Gary on 15th Jul 2013

Why did I want this backpack?
I have a good trolley system but find it awkward to carry and lift in tricky situations where space is at a premium. So I was looking for an all in one pump, battery water fed pole system that is lightweight enough to carry with ease and I appear to have found it!

How do I use the backpack?
I put my water through a DI unit before putting it in the backpack but I know some window cleaners use a DI unit between the backpack and pole.
I would never use the system on my back, so simply detached the back straps. There are backpacks that carry more water it is true, but some of these border on trolley size and I already have one of these so didn't want another.

    What's good about the backpack?
The system has an adjustable speed controller with 5 settings. So far I have found the slowest speed to be sufficient to clean windows well.
I like the fact that it has it's own handle which isn't part of the screw off lid. Other backpacks combine the handle with the lid, which I suspect results in too much pressure being applied to the lid and eventual damage.
The backpack came with its own built in battery charger that is easy to use and a micro-bore hose fitting which was ideal for my Gardiner pole.

What's bad about the back pack?
My son, who often window cleans with me, seems to like the backpack too much and keeps taking the backpack, leaving me the trolley!

    Summary
It works well, appears robust and represents good value for money. When fully charged as instructed it more than a good days work. I'm impressed.
